#21 Snack Stadium

Are you ready for some football?!?! I'm more of a basketball girl myself, but I am also more than willing to chow down on unhealthy Super Bowl food. And on the plus side, this unique set-up is somewhat of an exception to the typical greasy finger foods!

This Snack Stadium was fun and a little stressful to put together. But, the end product was worth it! Delicious guacamole, chunky salsa, and even some manly Slim Jims to top it off.

The one thing I think that's great about this stadium is how flexible it is to change. Want to buy store-bought guacamole? Go for it. You'd rather have queso in the end zones? Sure. You have a large crowd and need to double the recipe for a bigger pan? More power to ya. See the link I adapted this from for more ideas!

Out of all the football foods I made for the big Super Bowl party, this one was the most tedious. But, don't worry, the worst part is the Slim Jims! You can do it! You will love the outcome, and so will your football fanatics!

Snack Stadium

Prep Time: 20 minutes. Cook time: 0 minutes. Total time: 20 minutes.
Serves: 10-12

Ingredients:

10-12 ripe avocados
2 8-oz. packets guacamole seasoning (I used these)
2 limes
2 teaspoons salt, divided
32 oz. salsa (whatever kind you prefer)
*6 oz. cheese chunks (whatever flavor you prefer. I used mild cheddar)
8 Slim Jim sticks
2 tablespoons sour cream
Tortilla chips, for dipping
deep 9 x 13 pan/dish

*An 8 oz. block of cheese cut into (an estimated) thirds worked perfectly.

Directions:

1. Cut open and pit avocados. In a medium bowl, mash them until you get the creaminess you prefer. Cut limes in half and squeeze in lime juice. Stir in guacamole seasoning packets and one teaspoon salt until evenly incorporated.

2. Carefully dump guacamole in the center of the dish. Using a large spoon or spatula, spread until even, covering middle half of the pan. (There will be about one-fourth of the pan remaining on either side of the guacamole.) Sprinkle remaining teaspoon of salt over guacamole. Set aside.

3. Using toothpicks, secure one end in one of the two cheese blocks. Slide Slim Jim on other end until toothpick is entirely covered. Place another toothpick in the other end of the Slim Jim. Place a second Slim Jim perpendicular through the toothpick (forming a T). Stick a toothpick in either side of the perpendicular Slim Jim. Carefully secure vertical Slim Jims on each end. This is one "field goal." (This is the tricky part. You very well may need to use more toothpicks, but be patient!) Repeat procedure with remaining cheese block and four Slim Jims.

4. Place "field goals" in the center of each "end zone" (area where there is no guacamole).

5. Carefully pour salsa in both "end zones" around "field goals." Be careful to not overflow into the guacamole!

6. Using a piping bag or Ziploc baggie with the corner cut out, pipe five (or so) lines of sour cream down the guacamole.

7. Cover and place in the fridge for up to an hour or serve immediately with tortilla chips.
